Antebellum (Feb. 5) – The indie horror film from Lionsgate and starring Janelle Monáe comes to Hulu this week.

Into the Dark: Tentacles (Feb. 12) – original series, first episode since July 2020 – each episode is inspired by a holiday; this one is debuting just ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Buried by the Bernards (Feb. 12) – Reality series centering around a Memphis funeral home. I’ve seen a lot of press for it here in TN. Promises to be quirky and offbeat.

Hate by Dani Rovira (Feb 12) – Comedy special with the Goya-award winning performer

To All The Boys: Always and Forever (Feb 12) – Netflix original film, third and final installment in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series

The Crew (Feb 16) – Original comedy with Kevin James about a NASCAR pit crew

Animals on the Loose: A You vs. Wild Interactive Movie (Feb. 16) – When there’s a power outage at a safari reserve, Bear Grylls is called and he needs your help. The situation is dire: an escaped lion is headed for a nearby village; a baboon has broken free and is going towards the sea cliffs, and the power must be restored before more animals escape. The original You vs Wild series premiered on Netflix in 2019 with 8 episodes.

Behind Her Eyes (Feb 17) – Original miniseries. Psychological thriller based on a novel by Sarah Pinborough

Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan (Feb 18) Netflix Anime – series of manga one-shots, a spinoff of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

HBO Max

The Head, Season 1 (Feb. 4) – This six-episode thriller from Madrid-based Mediapro Studio may first look like a knock-off of John Carpenter’s The Thing, but the monsters here are considerably more human. It’ll be airing on HBO Max in the United States but has been sold to different platforms around the world, including Amazon Prime Video in Italy.

Judas and the Black Messiah (Feb. 12) – (another HBO Max day & date release) A movie about the betrayal and assassination of Fred Hampton, chairman of the Black Panther Party. Starring Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield.

Last Week Tonight (Feb 14) with John Oliver Season 8 premiere

It’s a Sin, Season 1 (Feb. 18) -The latest masterpiece from the creator of Queer As Folk (UK) is as devastating as it is endearing. A heartfelt chronicle of young friends navigating the joys, heartbreak, and outlandish parties that await them amidst an epidemic in 1980s London. 5 episodes starting February 18th on HBO Max.
